     My approach to counseling embodies whole person health — I focus on both mind + body wellness for optimal well being.  Symptoms of anxiety and depression can be a consequence of our lifestyles, and it is crucial to examine areas such as exercise, nutrition, sleep, relationships, & other lifestyle habits.  I am passionate about helping people feel good about themselves and giving them the necessary tools to lead a happier, more fulfilling life. Through empathic listening, focusing on strengths, and facilitating behavior change, we will develop a plan to help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, and poor self-esteem, can worsen over time, and have a dramatic effect on your emotional wellness and physical health. These emotional experiences can impact our ability to achieve the goals of change we have set for ourselves.

     Mind-Body Counseling & Fitness is a comprehensive program that provides a continuum of care for your mind and body combining psychotherapy, exercise, and nutrition, to help you achieve exceptional physical and emotional health. 

       First, we’ll have a conversation where we talk about your needs, and we’ll make a plan accordingly. Then, we’ll start with psychotherapy, and if you decide that it’s right for you, fitness and nutrition can also be integrated into your care plan. It all depends on you and what will help you achieve your goals. 

     Life can be very overwhelming at times. I believe we possess the strengths & resources to overcome challenges, but sometimes we all need some support in accessing these resources. We can talk over the phone so I can answer any of your questions & ease any worries you may have about about coming in!

Are you a Mom and not have time for YOU? I can relate....

It isn't easy being a mom and trying to juggle a full-time job with a family life.  Being a full-time working mother can lead to feelings of guilt and stress because of divided attention between work and family. Once you've checked off work, childcare and running a house there never seems to be enough time left for much else - least of all you!

     If you are used to putting others first it's hard to prioritize yourself, and not feel guilty about it.  Taking time of yourself has psychological and physical benefits.  If you give yourself a break you'll feel refreshed and happier.  If you don't have 'me time' you can get resentful of your significant other and children.  When we don't make time for ourselves, and make healthy choices with food and exercise, we end up not liking how we look and feel. This affects our self esteem, and of course everyone everyone else in the family. 

     The key is to focus on a plan, get organized, and find the right balance between work, family, and yourself.  When I'm working, I feel like I should be with my kids, but when I'm with my kids, I feel like I should be working. The guilt doesn't stop, so stop feeling guilty! You can be a great mom, successful in your career, and make time for yourself to be healthy! The happier you are with yourself, the happier your family will be with you! There will never be time unless YOU make it!
